All she remembers is waking up, at the edge of the ocean, and in this strange place — devoid of the people, places, and things she has known. The monster steps forward from the brush and the girl feels her terror lurch. She closes her eyes and braces for impact — is this the ending or the beginning?

F*ck perfection. It’s the devil.
F*ck perfection. It’s the devil. It’s draining, inconsistent, and most times it’s inauthentic. Are there things we’re all naturally good at for reasons unknown? Yes. AND when it comes to developing a skill, a practice, a lesson, most of us take time.
There is so much beauty to be found in the mistakes. Do you know how many times I’ve messed up in a scene and it ends up making the final cut? Too many to count. When I’m focused on perfection, I can’t listen. If I can’t listen, I can’t hear. And if I can’t hear, I might be missing the point. I might be settling for a slice of life when I could be having the whole cake.
